This section is for if you live in Portland Oregon. What if there was a company that delivered full size potted Christmas trees, then picked them up after New Years and planted it for you in a park or watershed? Well, The Original Living Christmas Tree Company is doing it. Woohoo- if you live in Portland we'll plant your Christmas tree to grow old! Finally it's convenient todo a Christmas tree right- a potted naturally shaped tree you don't have to transport or plant in your yard after each Christmas. Our clients potted trees are planted around schools, churches, parks, watersheds- to grow old. Potted trees are the freshest because, what's fresher than alive huh? The other nice thing about these potted trees is their natural shape. Since potted trees are heavy with the roots, they are delivered. And since potted trees are delivered, they're ordered online. Just browse the website, pay with PayPal or mail in a check. Then your tree is delivered to your door, you just slide it inside. After New Years slide it outside your door and it's picked up and planted to grow old. Imagine all the special feelings of Christmas with something new- a living tree! The best thing about a potted tree is a feeling like, "Wow it's alive with decorations, lights and presents in my home and will soon be planted, part of the environment, rained on, home to birdies to someday be a hundred feet tall- Wow". It's something an individual can do so at least their share of air pollution is cleaned- by their Christmas tree! 2012 info
Trees: The list below shows the kinds of trees we offer this year, it will stay the same as we sell out. The order form will show less trees as we sell out. The order form asks you for three tree choices, so have three tree kinds in mind before ordering. Tree selection is on the internet because we deliver. Our trees have a Natural shape, they are hand pruned, not sheered into cones. Ones noted as 'Natural' have not been pruned at all- Natures perfect Christmas trees! The tip of the tree height is from floor to very top, (tip height includes pot height which is about one foot). Tip of 6' tree is between 6´ and 7'. Tip of 7.5' tree is 7' to 7' 9" high. Prices: $95 includes delivery, pickup and planting. {If you pickup and return your tree in your vehicle the price is $70. When to order: It's not too late to order, we've arranged for lots more trees to be planted than last year. We do sell out of some kinds of trees so earlier is a better selection.
How long you would have your tree: For the health of your tree after planting, you'd have your tree inside your home between Friday 12/14/12 5pm, and Wednesday 1/2/13 pm (19 days). For us to pick it up after New Years, please put your tree outside your front door before you go to bed on Wednesday 1/2/13.
Delivery (area): Our delivery area is best described by zip code. We deliver in Eugene inside the city limits, outside the city limits there'd be a fee of at least $20. We deliver in Portland to: 97201, 97202, 97203, 97204, 97205, 97206- but not south of Flavel St, 97209, 97210- but not north of Vaughn St, 97211, 97212, 97213, 97214, 97215, 97217, 97218, 97219- but not south of Taylors Ferry Rd, 97221, 97223- but not south of Taylors Ferry Rd, 97225, 97227, 97229- we'll contact you if there's a delivery fee because it's a huge area, 97232, 97239. (If you live outside our delivery are we deliver for a fee- email us your address for a quote.) (You do not have to be home for the delivery. We put your tree next to your front door.)
Taking care of your living Christmas tree: The following are the basics of care, no: tinsel, flock (fake snow) or big (thumb size) lights. The lights that are small, (pencil erasure size) are perfect. Just water a pint or two each day. Also, it's important to keep your tree as cool temperature as possible. If practical, put it near a window. If a heating vent is near the tree, please cover and insulate the vent. When not at home, turn the heat down as low as practical. If you like to keep your home at 72 always, or heat your home with a wood stove, your tree won't be healthy enough for planting.
Special info: If your tree needs to go up or downstairs inside your home, definitely order a 6' tree, they weigh the least. If you live in an apartment / condo with a shared secure main door, email us for special arrangements (there might be a fee). We don't deliver early because, for the health of your tree after planting, it can't be indoors longer than 19 days. We can deliver early if you can display your tree outside, like on a porch until Fri/12/14 you can move your tree from your patio to inside your home. For businesses- we have big trees up to 20' for up to $1,500. If you want to keep your tree and plant it yourself, you can, it costs an extra $20.
