10- They are alive and breathing in your home! Full size live Christmas trees are, in terms of size and replanting, the 'greatest seasonal
houseplant' ever. People feel caring for houseplant, like it's
said that house plants are good for the soul.
9- They are the most naturally shaped! So we can appreciate the wildness of nature.
8- They are the freshest! What''s fresher than still alive- huh, huh?
7- They don't knock over from the cat. The rootballs are a heavy base and fat cats don't climb trees.
6- Less of a fire hazard! They don't dry out like cut trees. It's one of the aspects the TV news highlights as our main public service.
5- TOLCTC helps define Oregon as a State with desirable innovations. Oregon has things
like: excellent land use planning (we undid measure 37!), the bottle bill, social service programs, the beach bill, best bicycle city, curbside recycling, best mass transit, green buildings and living Christmas tree rental and
permanent planting.

Christmas Trees in a watershed- wheu! That's quite an experience for an otherwise rooted lifeform huh? Say,
"What a trip for a tree!" Say out loud to yourself right now, it's fun to say out loud now-, "What a trip for a tree!"
3- This is unique in the WORLD. Everyone who is part of TOLCTC is a pioneer in this live tree rental and permanent planting. One day, one fine day, we're going to be on Oprah or in Parade magazine. Then, then, we, all our customers and planters and growers- everyone who's been a part of TOLCTC will have made It.
2- It's good for the economy. Renting a TOLCTC tree is the best tree option for the local economy. Because our trees cost more to rent, your money goes into the local economy. It
costs more because we; irrigate, dig them, deliver and pick them
up, hire people for PR and have a website. That all adds more money to the local economy.
1.8- Portlanders who rent trees are subsidizing the price of the trees
to the planters. If a church buys twenty trees from TOLCTC that means
that twenty Portland households have contributed to the low cost of
the trees sold to the church. Maybe the Church could only afford to do it because the trees are like 60% less expensive than their other options for buying trees. TOLCTC sells the trees after Christmas for less than half of what we bought them for, we've even started giving some away.
1.6- Living Christmas Trees are the best option for the environment. Your tree will be planted to live for hundreds of years. Living Christmas trees are a way to say to 'global warming', "I did something about it".
1.5- TOLCTC is a nice Holiday news story! One year we were in an advertisement for the ten o'clock TV news show that was doing a news story on us. We were shown in a clip during broadcast of the, "It's A Wonderful Life" film on TV! Is that cool or what?
1.4- TOLCTC donates money. We've given money to; the YMCA, MLC school, Outward Bound, KBOO radio and others.
